ABOUT LISSA POIROT, FOUNDER CURATED BY LISSA

From Telling Travel Stories to Creating Yours

Travel has been at the heart of my career for nearly three decades.
Long before I became a luxury travel advisor, I was a travel journalist and editor, building a career around discovering the world and sharing it with others. My work has taken me across the globe—exploring destinations, experiencing remarkable hotels, sailing on ships of every size, and seeking out the places and experiences worth knowing about.
But I’ve also experienced travel in many of the same ways my clients do. I’ve traveled the world on my own, taken countless trips with my five children, escaped on romantic getaways, and explored with groups of friends. Each has taught me something different about what makes a trip work—and how dramatically the right destination, hotel, pace, and experiences can change depending on who you’re traveling with.
Along the way, I learned that the details matter. The right hotel can completely change how you experience a destination. A thoughtfully chosen guide can bring a place to life. And some of the most memorable moments happen when you venture beyond the obvious and discover something you never would have found on your own.
After years of telling travel stories, becoming a travel advisor felt like a natural next chapter: an opportunity to use everything I had learned to create those experiences for others.
Today, as a luxury travel advisor with Ciao Bambino, a Virtuoso agency, I combine my firsthand knowledge with an exceptional network of trusted partners around the world. I approach every journey much as I once approached a travel story—with curiosity, research, attention to detail, and the understanding that no two should ever be exactly alike.
The difference is that now, the story I'm creating is yours.
I'm not interested in simply checking destinations off a list or assembling an itinerary from the usual recommendations. I want to understand how you like to travel, who you're traveling with, what excites you, what matters to you, and what you want to remember long after you return home.
Sometimes that means finding a hotel that becomes one of your favorite parts of the trip. Sometimes it's knowing when a private guide is worth the splurge—or when an afternoon should be left completely unscheduled. It's about creating a journey that feels effortless while you're experiencing it because so much thought went into it beforehand.
